Their biggest hit was “Fresh Air” and hit #49 on the graphs. David joined Jefferson Airplane in 1972. He played on the group’s final record Long John Silver and their closing live album Thirty Seconds Over Winterland. The group turned into Jefferson Starship and Freiberg remained with them until 1984. He formally rejoined in 2010. Jefferson Starship has released 10 studio albums. Their 1975 record Red Octopus was certified 2x Platinum and reach #1 in America. Freiberg additionally released studio albums with Paul Kanter, Grace Slick, Mickey Hart, and Robert Hunter. He’s been connected to more first San Francisco groups than anyone else and continues to be called “the finest man in the San Francisco music scene”. David is married to singer Linda Imperial.
