Kim Jong-il was born February 16, 1941 in Vyatskoye, Khabarovsk Krai, Russia. He succeeded his father and creator of the DPRK, Kim Il-sung, after the older Kim’s passing in 1994. In April 2009, North Korea’s constitution was amended to refer to him as the “supreme leader”. The North Korean government declared his departure on December 19, 2011, whereupon his third son, Kim Jong-un, was promoted into a senior position in the ruling Workers’ Party and succeeded him. In the aftermath of the serious floods in Korea in the mid-nineties, made worse by poor property management, the market of North Korea fought through the ’90s, resulting in famine and economic shambles. In light of the desperate scenario, the Korean authorities officially approved some action in bartering and trade on a small scale. Kim’s government has even been accused of “crimes against humanity” because of its alleged culpability in creating and prolonging the 1990s famine. Kim Jong-il was the center of an intricate style cult inherited from his dad and creator of the DPRK, Kim Il-sung. Many North Koreans considered he’d “magical” ability to “command the weather” based on his disposition. In 2010, the North Korean media reported that Kim’s distinguishing clothes had place global trend styles.
